How do we get started?
Getting started with Miss Tutor is simple and collaborative. Once you reach out through our contact form or by email at zara@mistutor.ca we take the time to learn about your child’s unique needs and goals. From there, we connect you with tutor profiles that align with both subject expertise and personality fit, because we know relationships matter. Once a tutor is confirmed, we’ll guide you through a quick registration so sessions can begin with ease.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions can take place online, in your home, or at our Rosemère centre, depending on what works best for your family. Most of our support is offered through 1-on-1 tutoring, where students benefit from personalized attention and tailored strategies. For learners who enjoy collaboration, we also offer small group sessions of 3–5 students, available in all formats.
How long is a session?
Our sessions are typically 60 minutes, which provides the right balance for focus and progress. However, we’re flexible: depending on grade level, student needs, and learning goals, sessions can also be 90 minutes, 2 hours, or longer when deeper support is needed. For online sessions, we also offer shorter options as brief as 30 minutes, ideal for quick check-ins, maintenance, or light review between full sessions.
What are the rates for tutoring?
Our rates depend on the format you choose—whether online, in-home, in-centre, or in a small group setting. During your initial consultation, we’ll walk you through all the options so you can choose the plan that best fits your child’s needs and your family’s schedule.
How do payments work?
We offer flexible payment options to fit your family’s needs. You can choose to pay per session or select one of our prepaid packages: Starter Pack: 4 sessions, Commitment Pack: 16 sessions, and Success Pack: 20 sessions. These options come with built-in savings. We’ll always confirm the details in advance so you feel comfortable and confident with your plan.
Are tutoring services tax-deductible?

Many of our services are tax-exempt when they cover government curriculum-based subjects. In some cases, families may also qualify for partial reimbursement through their insurance provider. For children with diagnosed learning disabilities, tutoring expenses can often be claimed as a medical expense deduction. For the most up-to-date information, we recommend visiting the Canada Revenue Agency website or speaking directly with your insurer.

Do you help with ADHD/learning differences?
Yes—we adapt our approach to support students with ADHD and other learning differences. Our tutors use structure, check-ins, and personalized strategies to keep students focused and encouraged.
Which subjects/grades do you cover?
We support students from Pre-K through high school and CEGEP in English, French, Math, Science, History, and more. We’re flexible and accommodating with both grade levels and ages, tailoring support to each learner’s needs.
What if the tutor isn’t a fit?
Finding the right match is important. If you feel a tutor isn’t the best fit, just let us know—we’ll quickly connect you with another educator from our team.
